NMCTE is continuing the “Certificate of Merit” program, for teachers and educators to use to recognize outstanding student work in the area of English language arts.

We want to continue to recognize, based on the desires of our membership, the outstanding work in English language arts that K-16+ students in our state continually produce.  To celebrate this outstanding work, NMCTE has created a new program:  NMCTE Certificate of Merit.

Each NMCTE member is eligible to request up to four (4) student certificates per school year.  The certificate honors the student(s) for outstanding effort in English language arts.  The member-teacher selects the student(s) to receive the award and determines the reason for the honor.  Students L-16+ are eligible, as long as they are nominated by an NMCTE member.  Criteria for the award will vary among members, and that’s fine.

Request forms are below.  Upon receipt of the completed form, our state coordinator for this program, Jane Pierce, will create a beautiful, personalized certificate, 8 ½” by 11”, and mail it within two weeks to the requesting teacher.  Names of nominees will also be printed periodically in The Forum.

The request period for certificates is October 1 to May 1 of each school year.  Please plan on 2-3 weeks for delivery of certificates.
