Collective Voices Conference
Why We Teach:  Vision, Hope, and Promise

This year’s conference is a forum for teachers and researchers to present, discuss, and share ideas for students and the classroom.  During these times of a blaming and shaming narrative, prescribed and narrow curricula and oppressive tests, many teachers are discouraged and many students are frustrated, bored, and disengaged, but we meet with the hope and belief that teachers have the power to inspire deep, authentic learning. In addition to exploring the current climate in greater depth, this conference focuses on the vision, hope and promise of English Language Arts education in NM through the leadership of our engaged and committed teachers.
